Thomas E. Pontes
Thomas E. Pontes, a partner with the firm, leads the Business Litigation Department and concentrates his practice in the areas of litigation, workouts, representation of creditors' rights in bankruptcy matters and foreclosures. He is also experienced in real estate, banking and corporate law, acquisition and financing of residential and commercial properties, along with zoning, and commercial law, having worked extensively in the area of secured transactions in the construction area.
Mr. Pontes is a member of the Massachusetts and Taunton Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association and the South Shore Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Pontes is on the Board of Governors for the Taunton YMCA and has been involved in community activities, including the Town of Milton Warrant Committee, Milton American Little League, the Milton Youth Soccer League, the St. Agatha Youth Basketball League and the Suburban West Town League.
Educated at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he graduated Cum Laude and Suffolk University Law School, he was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1979.
